The Collectors

In compiling this scrapbook, Adam White received specimens from three main collectors: Sir John Richardson, Peter Cormack Sutherland, and Charles Ede. Richardson was present on Franklin’s two land expeditions, while Sutherland and Ede participated in the Franklin search expeditions. The eminent botanist Robert Brown also donated some specimens. More on the history of the expeditions relevant to this scrapbook can be found here.
