About Us!

This website is the final result of a 299Y Botany Research Project by Kevan Brott and Kristina Boka at the University of Toronto, carried out in conjunction with the Centre for Biodiversity and Conservation Biology at the Royal Ontario Museum. The project was supervised by Dr. Timothy Dickinson, curator of the ROM Green Plant Herbarium (TRT) and Deb Metsger, Botany Assistant Curator.

When we began this project in September 2004 the Adam White Arctic scrapbook was in fragile condition and at risk of further damage each time it was handled. Cleaning and repair were required to halt the deterioration. In an effort to reduce handling stresses, the contents of the scrapbook were digitally catalogued. Cataloguing involved documenting each page with digital photographs, and databasing the information associated with each artifact. Records from the catalogue were incorporated into the ROM Green Plant Herbarium specimen database.

On March 2nd, 2005, we presented a poster and participated in the Undergraduate Research Fair at the University of Toronto
